Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the questions I get asked most often about Reiki. If you have something else you’d like to know, just drop me a message.

1. How much does a Reiki session cost?

A 60-minute Reiki session is £70. To make the most of our time together, I’ll send you a brief intake form to complete before your appointment—this means we can jump straight into the treatment rather than spending time on paperwork.

If you’re new to Reiki or Mellow Me, your first session is £60 as an introductory rate.

I also offer packages for ongoing support:

  • 3 sessions for £195 (£65 each – save £15)
  • 5 sessions for £315 (£63 each – save £35)

Payment can be made by card or bank transfer.

2. How long are reiki sessions and how often should I have Reiki?

Sessions last about 60 minutes – this includes a brief consultation at the start followed by the treatment itself. I’ve found this is roughly the right length of time for most people to properly settle into the session and get the full benefit of it.

How often depends on what’s going on for you right now. If you’re dealing with particular challenges or stress, weekly sessions for a few weeks can be really helpful. Many clients then shift to every 3-4 weeks to maintain that sense of balance and wellbeing.

3. What should I do to prepare for my session?

Please avoid alcohol or recreational drugs before your appointment – for everyone’s safety, I won’t be able to see you if you arrive under the influence.

Your usual medication is absolutely fine to take as normal. There’s no need to change what you eat or wear anything special – if you’re coming straight from work in a suit, that’s perfectly fine as long as you’re comfortable. Just remove shoes and any bulky jackets when you arrive.

4. What should I expect after my reiki session?

Reiki is very gentle, though some people report feeling quite emotional or unusually tired as their body processes the session. This is completely normal and usually settles within a day or two.

Most people feel lighter, calmer, or more grounded afterwards. It’s common to feel deeply relaxed for the rest of the day, so try to avoid planning anything too demanding if possible – give yourself permission to take it easy.

5. Where exactly do you practice and how do I get there?

I offer Reiki sessions from my home practice on the Isle of Dogs (E14), available on most days of the week. Sessions are held in a private, comfortable room in my flat – a calm space for our work together:

  • Closest stations: Mudchute DLR (2-minute walk)
  • By bus: 135 and 277 buses stop directly outside/adjacent to the station on Spindrift Avenue
  • Lift access available
  • Exact address shared upon session confirmation

Once we’ve worked together a few times, I offer home visits to my regular clients across East London.

6. Can I have Reiki alongside other treatments?

Absolutely! Reiki works beautifully alongside conventional medical treatment, counselling, physiotherapy, and other complementary therapies. It’s gentle and non-invasive, so there are no interactions to worry about.

Many of my clients combine Reiki with therapies like acupuncture, massage, or talking therapy. Always keep your other healthcare providers informed about any treatments you’re receiving – most are very supportive of holistic approaches that help you feel better.

If you’re currently receiving medical treatment, please continue with it as prescribed. Reiki is a wonderful complement to medical care, not a replacement for it.
